K-3rd Grade PE Monthly

Welcome to our Christian Physical Education program! These guidelines outline the behavioral expectations, code of conduct, and financial terms to ensure a positive and productive learning environment for all students.

I. Code of Conduct & Behavioral Expectations

Our Christian Physical Education classes are founded on principles of respect, responsibility, and sportsmanship, reflecting Christian values. All students are expected to uphold the following:

  1. Follow Directions: Students must promptly and respectfully follow all instructions given by the instructor. This ensures safety, effective learning, and efficient class flow.

  2. Respect for Property: Students are expected to treat all school property, equipment, and personal belongings of others with care and respect. Intentional damage or misuse of property will not be tolerated.

  3. Respect for Others: Students must demonstrate respect for their peers, instructors, and any visitors. This includes:

  • Using appropriate language.

  • Practicing good sportsmanship, whether winning or losing.

  • Avoiding physical or verbal aggression.

  • Encouraging and supporting classmates.

  • Refraining from bullying or exclusionary behavior.

Consequences for Non-Compliance:

Students who consistently fail to follow directions, show disrespect for property, or disrespect others may be suspended from class. Severe or repeated infractions may lead to permanent removal from the program.

Attire Policy (K - 6th Grade)

Our Christian Homeschool PE program at Church on Main is committed to fostering a fun, active, and God-honoring environment for all students. In alignment with our biblical worldview that encourages respect for our bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:20), we ask that all participants adhere to the following modest attire policy during PE classes.

This policy is designed to ensure comfort, promote appropriate focus on physical activity, and uphold a standard of modesty that reflects our Christian values.

General Principles of Modest Attire:

  1. Comfort and Functionality: Clothing should allow for full range of motion necessary for physical activity without being restrictive or causing discomfort.

  2. Modesty: Clothing should not be tight-fitting, revealing, or distracting to others. The primary purpose of PE attire is to facilitate safe and active participation.

Specific Guidelines for Clothing:

  • Tops:

    • Loose-fitting t-shirts or modest athletic shirts are required.

    • Shirts must cover the shoulders, stomach, and back at all times, including during active movement (running, jumping, stretching).

    • No spaghetti straps, tank tops (unless worn over a t-shirt), halter tops, midriff-baring tops, or tops with excessively low necklines.

    • Undergarments should not be visible.

  • Bottoms:

    • Loose-fitting athletic shorts, sweatpants, joggers, or modest athletic leggings/capris are permitted.

    • Shorts must be knee-length or longer. No "short shorts" or running shorts that ride up during activity.

    • If leggings or capris are worn, they must be paired with a loose-fitting top that covers the hips and backside.

    • No overly tight athletic pants (e.g., compression leggings without an appropriate covering layer).

    • No jeans or non-athletic pants that restrict movement.

  • Footwear:

    • Closed-toe athletic shoes (sneakers) with socks are required. This is for safety during active play.

    • No sandals, flip-flops, crocs, boots, or dress shoes.

  • Hair:

    • Long hair should be tied back for safety and to prevent obstruction during activities.

We appreciate your cooperation in upholding these standards for our Homeschool PE Program. If you have any questions or require clarification, please do not hesitate to contact Coach Penn.
